About Aurabox

Aurabox is a platform which allows patients and doctors to store and view medical imaging in a single location. We’re a new company with a big vision to improve patient outcomes by transforming the way doctors access medical imaging and collaborate with their colleagues.   

About this role

This is a rare opportunity to join a company on the ground-floor as our first full time hire, reporting to the CTO. You will play a pivotal role in the growth and engineering direction of Aurabox, helping to deliver on our technology roadmap as we enter the market and expand. 

Because of the nature of this role, you will be given freedom to shape your position with a potential for this to grow into a leadership role in the future. We’re a small team, so while most of your time will be spent building the product, you will also be expected to help out on other initiatives, attend events, provide customer support or just get your hands dirty. 

You are a self-starter, an inquisitive and pragmatic problem solver, an excellent communicator, and enjoy working independently. You should be familiar with modern web application development including front-end development, web standards, APIs, WebOps/DevOps etc. 

Our stack currently includes Laravel with Tailwind, Livewire and Alpine.js, React, Electron, Google Cloud, and Webflow.

Aurabox is a 100% remote-first company based in Canberra. You do not need to be located in Canberra, however you may be required to travel from time to time. We work with Slack, Google Meet, and other remote work services. You will need to provide a suitable workspace/home office, however Aurabox will provide the tools required to do your job, including the latest Apple hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement better engineering solutions in collaboration with our CTO
• Initially, lead delivery of major roadmap initiatives including our image uploader and next-gen imaging viewer platform
• Contribute to documentation, training of non-technical staff and other duties as required
• Assist with customer support issues, especially where relating to application bugs

What you’ll bring

• 3 to 5 years’ relevant work experience using React or other relevant front-end frameworks and/or Laravel/PHP
• Software development fundamentals
• A strong customer focus and understanding of turning customer problems into usable solutions
• Experience with WebOps/DevOps practices and tools
• Expertise in problem analysis, problem-solving, solution design
• Prior experience working with medical imaging technologies is desirable but not essential
• Experience working with agile methodologies
