Aurabox Changelog

Updates for January 2024

January 31, 2024

Over the last 6 weeks we've focussed heavily on stablising the service and resolving outstanding bugs. As part of this effort, we've put considerable effort into security hardening and testing. Many of these issues are internal and not reflected in this changelog (in fact, we closed around 70 issues this month).

New Features

  • New connectivity check when using the uploader that will warn the user before they attempt to use it, and links to a help page on our website
  • Studies can now be removed using a new Actions button, if the patient has not already accepted their account
  • Pin codes for sharing

Bug fixes

  • Fixed and issue with reference Lines issues in the viewer
  • My Requests tab was broken for personal users
  • Formatting issue on dashboard when using long case
  • Family managers can actually access the manage family page
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes result in a user getting two teams
  • Requests for imaging will no longer create a broken duplicate if a prior study exists, and instead update the original
  • Hid the Add Patient and Add Record buttons for Viewers, since they couldn't do anything once they clicked them
  • Fixed an issue in the viewer that prevented loading PETs if they had missing metadata
  • Other minor bugs

Custom forms and fields, better sharing, and de-identified patients

January 15, 2024

New Features

  1. Custom Forms and Fields: Enhance patient, study, and document management with customisable fields. This feature allows for the addition of any data to Aurabox patients, studies, and documents. Additionally, it enables ongoing patient documentation through new forms capability.
  2. Improved Sharing: Experience a redesigned sharing wizard, rebuilt for enhanced usability and ease-of-use. Options include selecting from recently shared-with users or searching for existing Aurabox doctors. Note that soon, sharing will be further simplified with a pin-code authorisation system.
  3. De-identified Patients: Aurabox now supports the addition of patients in a de-identified mode. This update is particularly beneficial for researchers and educational projects, marking the first in a series of planned improvements for research.

Enhancements

  1. Imaging Requests: Updates to imaging requests have eliminated the need for a report when sending a request.

Additional Improvements

  • Various bug fixes have been addressed to improve overall functionality and user experience.

Updates for October 2023

October 31, 2023

Add notes when sharing

When sharing imaging with another doctor, you can now add a note, which will appear in the email they receive.

Reload study metadata

Sometimes, for a range of reasons, the metadata presented for a study can be incorrect, out of date, or otherwise different from what is stored in the original DICOM files. For this purpose, studies now have a "Refresh" function, which allows you to manually reload the study metadata from the source repository.

Download DICOM

Studies now all have a Download option, which allows you to download a DICOM package for use in your own software.

Other changes this month:

  • Improved styles for tables, better readability
  • Single document records can now contain multiple documents
  • Bug fixes and other improvements

FHIR Subscriptions, DICOMWeb import and other improvements

September 30, 2023
  • Enhanced FHIR Subscriptions: Aurabox now includes an advanced feature to subscribe to updates from FHIR sources. With this enhancement, Aurabox can automatically sync with the latest patient data and medical information, following the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards. This means that any new records or updates in the FHIR source are automatically fetched and added to Aurabox, ensuring that the healthcare data is up-to-date and accurate.
  • DICOMWeb Imports Capability: We have expanded Aurabox's functionality to include the import of medical imaging studies from DICOMWeb endpoints. This integration supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standards, a crucial aspect of medical imaging technology. With this feature, healthcare providers can seamlessly import and manage medical imaging data from DICOMWeb endpoints directly into Aurabox, streamlining the process of storing and accessing medical images.
  • Comprehensive AdvaPACS Integration: The integration with AdvaPACS brings together the new FHIR Subscriptions and DICOMWeb Import capabilities into a unified workflow. This integration allows for automatic and instant transfer of studies from AdvaPACS to Aurabox as soon as they are available. AdvaPACS's compatibility with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and various modalities further enriches this functionality. Now, Aurabox users connected to any DICOM-compatible system can effortlessly send imaging data to Aurabox, enhancing the efficiency of medical image management and ensuring rapid access to critical patient data.
  • Streamlined Data Management and Access: These updates collectively provide a more efficient, automated, and error-free system for managing healthcare data. The integration of FHIR Subscriptions and DICOMWeb Imports, especially in conjunction with the AdvaPACS system, ensures that healthcare providers have the most current and comprehensive data at their fingertips. This is crucial for accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, as well as for maintaining an up-to-date and efficient healthcare data management system.
  • User-Friendly Interface and Workflow: Alongside these technical enhancements, we have focused on ensuring that these new features are user-friendly and easily integrated into existing workflows. The goal is to minimize disruption and learning curve for existing users, while significantly enhancing the capabilities and efficiency of the Aurabox system.
