We're excited to announce three powerful new features in Aurabox that will transform how you manage patient information and navigate your imaging workflow.
AI Patient Summaries
Aurabox now includes AI-powered patient summaries, giving clinicians an instant overview of a patient's imaging history at a glance.
Instead of manually reviewing multiple studies and reports, clinicians can now access an intelligently generated summary that highlights key findings and imaging history. This means faster decision-making during consultations and more efficient preparation for multidisciplinary team meetings.
AI summaries are designed to complement clinical judgment, not replace it. They provide a helpful starting point that allows clinicians to quickly identify areas requiring deeper review.
AI Summaries can be turned on by going to Organisation Settings > AI. While no identifiying information is used, patient may choose to opt out of AI use.
Patient and Imaging Search
Finding patients and imaging studies is now faster than ever with our enhanced search capabilities.
You can now search across your entire Aurabox workspace by:
- Patient name - Quickly locate patients using partial or full name matches
- Patient ID - Search directly using MRN, IHI, or any configured identifier
- Imaging details - Find studies by modality, body part, or other study metadata
Whether you're looking for a specific patient or trying to locate a particular study, the new search makes it simple to find exactly what you need in seconds.
New Identifier System
Aurabox now handles patient identifiers in a comprehensive, standards-based way.
How It Works
Identifiers are now tracked using Code Systems and Namespaces, following the same approach used in FHIR. This means:
- Structured identifiers - Every identifier has a clear system and namespace, making it unambiguous which organisation or system assigned it
- Editable identifiers - Correct mistakes or add missing identifiers directly in Aurabox
- Common identifiers on Data Requests - Key identifiers are now displayed prominently on data requests, making it easier to match patients across systems
Namespaces
Namespaces are shared across teams for common identifiers like Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHIs), but can also be defined per team for organisation-specific identifiers.
For organisations that don't have their own namespace for patient identifiers (which is most of them), Aurabox automatically assigns an https://simplehealthrecord.org namespace. This ensures every identifier is properly structured and traceable.
IHI Support and HealthConnect Readiness
This new identifier system enables proper tracking and matching of patients using IHIs. This is essential groundwork for any future integration with Australia's HealthConnect infrastructure.
By adopting a FHIR-aligned approach now, Aurabox is positioned to support the evolving requirements of Australia's digital health ecosystem.
These features are rolling out to all Aurabox workspaces. If you have any questions about how to use these new capabilities, please reach out to our support team.
